Kapurthala factory begins making coaches for Bangladesh Railway

The initiative forms part of a 200-coach export order, under which the RCF will manufacture 20 coaches in the current year.
The batch includes eight air-conditioned (AC) coaches and 12 non-AC ones, all designed to meet the
operational and passenger requirements of Bangladesh Railway.
The production of the first coach shell was ceremonially inaugurated on Saturday by Manohar Lal, the senior-most employee of the shell assembly shop. Senior officials and employees were present during the inauguration, reflecting the pride and enthusiasm of the workforce.
RCF has a proven track record of delivering high-quality rolling stock to Bangladesh Railway.
In 2016–17, the factory manufactured and supplied 120 LHB coaches, custom-engineered to suit the specific requirements of Bangladesh’s rail network.
