The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested a Kapurthala resident on the charge of murdering a youth. Station House Officer (SHO) Baljindar Singh said the suspect was identified as Jaitindar Kumar, alias Ghohli, a resident of Kahlwan village, falling under the Kapurthala Sadar police station. The SHO said the suspect and his accomplices had shot dead Kulwinder Singh, alias Kindi (30), a resident of Kala Sangha village, near Uggi village.

Charan Dass, a resident of Kala Sangha village, and father of the deceased, complained to the police that his son Kindi was standing near Uggi village with his friend Laddu and two others when the suspects came there and attacked Kindi with sharp weapons. He tried to save himself by running from the spot when one the suspects fired from his pistol at Kindi which led to his death on the spot.

The SHO said a case under Sections 103 (murder), 191(3) (committing an offence with common intention) and 190 (unlawful assembly) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act was registered against the suspect and his accomplices.
