The operation, conducted under the direct supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gaurav Toora, led to the arrest of Ramandeep Singh alias Raman, a resident of Kothe Tarkhana village, PS Kathu Nangal (Amritsar), and his associate Daljit Singh alias Baba, of Nehru Colony, Majitha Road, Amritsar.

SSP Toora told The Tribune that Ramandeep was being escorted by police to village Mand, Dhilwan (Kapurthala), to recover weapons related to a recent firing incident. During the recovery operation, Ramandeep tried to escape by pushing the accompanying police personnel. In response, the police fired a warning shot, which hit him in the leg. He was immediately taken to the Civil Hospital, Kapurthala, and is currently under medical care.

The operation is linked to a firing incident that occurred on the night of June 24 at Dhilwan Toll Plaza, when a group of four to five armed assailants arrived in a numberless Hyundai Creta. As toll employees attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspects opened fire with three to four gunshots before fleeing towards Beas. No injuries were reported.
