Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur SSPs carry out checks in war against drugs

Under the ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign launched by the government, the Kapurthala police, under SSP Gaurav Toora, conducted strict inspections and checking under Operation Seal-9.

Toora made a surprise visit to various check-points, check posts and entry points late at night and early in the morning. The SSP said under the war on drugs, 28 smugglers had been arrested and 27 cases had been registered in the last six days. Apart from this, 16 drug-affected areas had been identified and drug awareness campaign had also been started in the affected areas.

Toora said under the anti-drug campaign launched by the government, along with checking the entry points of the district today, the officials were given strict instructions that no anti-social activity or suspicious person should be allowed to enter the district without checking.

He said all SHOs had also been ordered to identify drug smugglers in their area and take necessary action against them.

Hoshiarpur: SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik today inspected inter-state nakas in the district. Along with police officers, he reached at Manguwal inter-state naka to review checking under statewide operation SEAL-9. Malik says requisite police personnel had been deployed at all 11 inter-state check posts equipped with CCTV cameras so as to keep close tabs on any illegal activity, especially the movement of contraband, drugs and criminals exiting the state after committing crime.
