In a move to strengthen child protection under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, the Kapurthala district administration has announced the reconstitution of the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) and Child Welfare Committee (CWC).

Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal informed that two new qualified members will be appointed to the Juvenile Justice Board. Additionally, the Child Welfare Committee will be restructured with the appointment of one Chairperson and four members.

These appointments will be made in accordance with Sections 4 and 27 of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015.

The Department of Social Security and Women & Child Development, Punjab, has opened the application process for interested and eligible candidates. Applications can be submitted online through the official website of the department: https://sswcd.punjab.gov.in. The deadline for submission is June 17.
