The Lohian Khas police have arrested a Kapurthala-based woman for allegedly cheating a handicapped man. Investigating Officer Harwindar Singh said the accused had been identified as Shakti Salwan of Preet Nagar in Kapurthala.

Lakhwindar Singh, a resident of Gatti Peer Bakash village, had complained to the Jalandhar (Rural) Senior Superintendent of Police that he — a handicapped man — had been blackmailed by the accused.

The IO said a case under sections 318(4) (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita had been as registered against the accused.
