The association described it an unjust move by the US which has triggered widespread discontent across India's business communities. During the protest, bottles of a soft drink, a prominent American brand, were symbolically poured out onto the streets to mark the beginning of the boycott campaign.
In a statement, leader Ravinder Dhir expressed solidarity with the government and praised it for the firm stance against external pressure.
Dhir stated, “We commend the government's strong resolve and bold decisions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's actions against the policies of the Trump administration are truly praiseworthy.”
He further criticised US President Donald Trump, accusing him of making erratic policy announcements that undermine the dignity of his office. Dhir affirmed that India has emerged as a global power and will not bow down to pressure.
Referring to India's dairy and agriculture sectors, the association reiterated the government's clear message that no foreign power has the right to interfere in India's internal economic policies. “The government knows well how to protect its dairy and agricultural sectors,” said Dhir.
The protest was organised under the leadership of Vijay Dhir (convener), along with Praveen Anand and Ramesh Anand (co-conveners).
The association concluded the protest by urging everyone to begin a firm and peaceful boycott of American products and to stand in unwavering support of the government’s decisions.
