The event was graced by Rutgers University delegation, including Dr Hao Lin, Associate Dean for Graduate and International Education; Dr Ashutosh Goel, Professor, Department of Materials Science and Engineering; Dr Eric Garfunkel, Vice President for Global Affairs; Dr George S Leibowitz, Dean, School of Social Work; Dr Lia Nower, Associate Dean for Research; and others. This partnership builds upon prior academic interactions between the two institutions - notably the visit of Prof (Dr) Atima Sharma Dwivedi to Rutgers University in May 2025 and the visit of Prof Hao Lin to KMV in June 2025.

The MoU outlines collaboration in student and faculty exchange, joint research projects and credit recognition for KMV students under 4 1 and 3 2 degree models. KMV students will also be exempted from English proficiency tests such as IELTS or Duolingo, and Rutgers University is considering subsidised tuition fees for KMV students. Additionally, both institutions plan to introduce a 1 1 programmes in various faculties.
