In the state-level boxing competition of Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan, held at SBS Nagar, Komal, a student of Government Senior Secondary School, Naru Nangal, won the gold medal in boxing (Under 14).

DEO (S) Hoshiarpur Lalita Arora, Deputy District Education Officer (S) Dheeraj Vishisht, District Sports Officer Gurpreet Singh Bajwa and District Coordinator Jagjit Singh congratulated the student and praised Komal for her achievment.

She will be given a prize of Rs 10,000 by the government. DEO congratulated Naru Nangal School Principal Shailendra Thakur and all the staff. Shailendra Thakur, the principal of the school, said that sports were the best means of entertainment and use of leisure time.
