Jalandhar: The Pendu Mazdoor Union Punjab State Committee on Saturday condemned lathicharge on the farmers in Haryana. The PMU also condemned the police action to prevent entry of farm leaders trying to enter the Jallianwala Bagh. PMU activists condemned the lathicharge on youths trying to enter the Jallianwala Bagh and the arrest of farmer activists such as Naujawan Bharat Sabha’s state president Rupinder Singh Chaundan, state leader Naunihal Singh and Karamjit Singh, among others. They also condemned the lathicharge on protesting farmers at Karnal in Haryana. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
