Work no longer begins on the first day at the office—it now begins at the learning stage itself. Lovely Professional University (LPU) has taken a significant step in this direction with the inauguration of the Capgemini Code Experience Lab, a cutting-edge facility designed to simulate real-world tech workplaces right on campus.

Unlike conventional computer labs, the newly launched space replicates an actual tech hub environment. It features collaboration hubs, discussion zones, coding bays and digital displays, allowing students to work on real projects, build skills and collaborate in a setting that mirrors top global tech companies.

Launching the lab, Dr Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU, said, “We want our students to be work-ready before they leave campus. That’s why our education model allows them to earn up to 50% of their marks through real work experience. Partnering with a global leader like Capgemini helps us bring the real world into the classroom and prepare our students to step out as professionals, not just graduates.”

The Capgemini Code Experience Lab supports over 200 students simultaneously and is part of LPU’s EduRevolution initiative, aimed at bridging the gap between academia and industry. The lab offers live project experience, coding challenges, hackathons, and team assignments, using industry-standard tools and workflows.

With artificial intelligence reshaping the future of work, the lab also exposes students to the practical applications of AI, training them to integrate AI solutions into real-time projects. The initiative ensures that students are not only familiar with emerging technologies but are equipped to apply them effectively.

Capgemini has consistently been one of LPU’s top recruitment partners, hiring across various domains each year. With this lab, the collaboration extends deeper, offering students the opportunity to experience how professional tech teams operate, long before they face their placement interviews.

The grand inauguration was attended by top dignitaries from LPU including Dr Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor; Dr Loviraj Gupta, Pro Vice-Chancellor; and Dr Harpal Thethi, Professor and Executive Dean, Division of Career Services.

Representing Capgemini India were senior leaders including Sanjay Chalke, Chief Operating Officer; Neeti Churamani, Vice President, Cloud and Custom Apps; Puneet Kumra, Vice President and Head of Early Careers Program; Suman Bhattacharya, Director, University Relations and Hiring; and Akanksha Suman, Manager.
