The government released the ‘National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024’ in New Delhi for all categories. Among both government and private universities, Lovely Professional University (LPU) is the 27th top-ranking university. It has jumped 11 positions from last year’s ranking.

LPU’s pharmacy discipline is ranked 16th, law 19th, agriculture and allied sectors 22nd, architecture and planning 24th, management 38th; engineering 50th, innovation 11-50 rank band and in research institutions it’s in the top 44 institutions in India. This National Institutional Ranking Framework score reflects where the institution is standing with respect to other institutions in a similar category.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
