Lieutenant General Ajay Chandpuria of the Indian Army today conducted a special review of the ongoing Agniveer recruitment rally being held at the Government Arts and Sports College, Jalandhar. The rally is being organised under the leadership of the district administration.

Army Recruiting Officer Colonel Viplav from Jalandhar Cantonment was also present during the inspection.

During his visit, Lt Gen Chandpuria inspected key arrangements at the rally site, including the running track, medical facilities, drinking water supply, tents, electricity and food provisions for candidates. He also interacted with the participants and motivated them to boost their morale.

Neelam Mahe, Deputy Director, District Bureau of Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training, informed that around 1100 candidates from Hoshiarpur district participated on the second day of the rally. Out of these, 630 candidates successfully completed the 1600-meter race within seven minutes.

She added that candidates who qualified in the race would now be assessed on additional physical standards such as high jump, long jump, and pull-ups. Officials further informed that all candidates participating in the recruitment rally have already cleared the written examination held in May 2025.
