Man arrested by Gujarat Police for cyber fraud
A Bihar native was arrested on Friday morning from Bhargo Camp by the Gujarat Police on the charge of cyber fraud.
The accused was identified as Mohammad Murtja Ali and he was residing in Jalandhar on a rental accommodation. The police recovered four mobile phones and three SIM connections from his possession. The accused used a mobile application to commit cyber frauds with people.
There have been reports that he had links with the Pakistan-based ISI but this could not be ascertained. His phone is being checked for any suspected videos and photographs taken by him during Operation Sindoor, said Jalandhar police officials who had joined the Gujarat Police during the raid.
There have been reported that the accused had bought a 25-marla plot which he was getting constructed for an estimated amount of Rs 1.5 crore. The police teams have also checked his bank account and had found that his monthly transactions were close to Rs 40 lakh. The Gujarat Police personnel said they had already started preliminary investigation against Ali before arresting him.
