Talwara police arrested a man with smuggled liquor and registered a case against him. Acting on a tip-off, police stopped a man for checking on the Shah Canal-Changdwan road.

A sack was placed on his scooter. When the sack was opened and checked, 27 bottles of liquor manufactured in HP were recovered. The accused identified himself as Ranjeet Singh alias Raju, resident of village Dharam Singh Diyan Chhanna, Police Station Mahitpur, District Jalandhar, currently residing in Sandpur. A case has been registered against Raju under the Excise Act and further action has been initiated.
