According to his father, a resident of Bahadurpur, Varanasi, Golu had gone to the market on November 20 around 7 pm to buy green chilies but never returned.

The investigation found that Sahib had attempted to sexually assault Golu and then strangled him to death to silence him. SHO Harjinder Singh confirmed that the condition of the body indicated strangulation.
Based on technical inputs, the police tracked Sahib to his in-laws’ house in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. He was arrested on transit remand and brought back to Punjab. After being presented in court, a four-day police remand was granted for further interrogation.
During questioning, Sahib confessed to the crime. Police are continuing their investigation to uncover more details.
