Phagwara SP Adhvi Sharma while giving details told The Tribune here on Saturday told that the arrest was made following sustained raids and investigation by multiple police teams. She said that Gurdeep Singh is one of the accused involved in the case, while efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects.
SP Sharma said, the other accused named in the case are Suria Pratap alias Noni, resident of Yamuna Nagar, who is presently residing in the United States; Gujjar, whose permanent village details are not known, resident of Indri town in Karnal district, presently residing in Australia; Lukesh Rana alias Lavi, resident of village Heffon, Tehsil Samrala, district Ludhiana; and Divya Pratap Rana alias Dibi, resident of village Heffon, Tehsil Samrala, district Ludhiana. Police teams are conducting raids at various locations to trace and arrest the absconding accused, and officials have asserted that all those involved will be brought to justice.
Providing details of the incident, Phagwara Superintendent of Police Madhvi Sharma said that the firing occurred on the night of 26/27 November 2025 at the house of Daljit Singh alias Raju(Co-Ordinator War against Drugs) a resident of Darvesh village . She stated that two masked persons arrived at the spot and opened fire at the house, creating panic in the area, before fleeing.
Police have already arrested three persons—Ghanshyam Tiwari, his mother Neeraj Kumari, and brother Deepak Tiwari—for allegedly sheltering and financing the main assailants involved in the late-night firing on the residence of AAP leader and Yudh Nasheyan De Virudh coordinator Daljit Raju,said SP Madhvi Sharma. Further investigation is in progress to establish the motive behind the attack.
