Man held with illicit liquor, 100-kg lahan
Jalandhar, July 23
The Mehatpur police today seized 12 bottles of liqour and 100 kg Lahan and arrested one person with these.
The police said a police party during a naka at Mehatpur arrested a man identified as Bagga Singh, resident of Mohalla Sadi Kha Mehatpur and recovered 12 bottles of illegal liquor (9,000 ml) from him along with 100-kg lahan.
An FIR under sections 61, 1 and 14 of the Excise Act has been registered against the accused at the Mehatpur police station on July 22. The police said a detailed investigation was being done in the case.
