Man injured in firing

A firing incident took place at New Dashmesh Nagar in the wee hours of Wednesday. A middle-aged man sustained two bullet injuries while a shell of the third bullet was recovered from the spot.

Pawan Kumar, alias Chanta, was reportedly sitting outside his residence with his friend Ravinder Kumar when the incident took place. "I had come late from work last evening. Pawan had called me outside his place for a discussion. He was telling me that his son had a tiff with some people from the locality earlier in the day and this had disturbed him. Just then, someone fired shots and Pawan got injured. I could not spot anyone as it happened so fast and in the thick of night. I could only recover a bullet shell", he said this, taking it out from his pocket.

Pawan was immediately taken to the Civil Hospital where his condition is slated to be serious. The matter was reported to Bhargo Camp police station. ACP, West, Swaranjit Singh said, "We have recorded the statements of the victim and the witness. We have sought report from doctors about the kind of injury. We shall accordingly lodge the complaint".
