Man killed as scooter falls into canal post collision

This morning, at around 11.30, a car and a two-wheeler collided on the road along the Bist Doab Canal at Kotfatuhi station.

Due to the collision, both the riders fell into the canal. By the time the locals pulled out the victims, Satnam Singh alias Satti had died, while Rajinder Singh was found injured and was rushed to the hospital.

Satti, a resident of Langeri village, and Rajinder, a resident of Baghaura near Mahilpur, who works as a DJ, were going to Jalandhar on the two-wheeler number Punjab 24 E 1795. When they reached Kotfatuhi, a car bearing registration number Punjab 08 CK 6992 driven by Akash, a resident of Panchanangal village, collided with the scooter, due to which they fell into the canal.

There is negligible embankment along the canal where the accident took place. The police hasve taken the body to the mortuary at the Garshankar Civil Hospital.
