Jalandhar: As schools are off because of coronavirus threat, Mayor World School has started conducting online classes for Classes X and XII. The queries are resolved and doubts are being dispelled. The students of other classes have also been provided with online support material and given links to advantageous resources. The school authorities claim that they have been providing masks to the parents and visitors coming to the school. The school has been undertaking sanitisation drive as well as disinfecting the grey areas.

Workshop on data analytics

Jalandhar: The Centre for Career Planning and Counselling, CT Group of Institutions, organised a workshop on Data Analytics through Microsoft Excel for faculty and staff members. The workshop was conducted by Dr Harpreet Singh Bedi, Prof Mittal School of Business. He started the workshop by giving brief information about data analytics, data visualisation and excel modelling. He emphasised that MS-Excel is an advanced tool of data analytics and was a quite handy tool to better address the complexities of the current era. He further explained that how MS-Excel can enhance the effectiveness of their day-to-day operations by discussing various shortcuts in order to manage data and their practical implementations of the suggested methods.

Manisha first in MA Sanskrit

Jalandhar: MA Sanskrit (Semester III) students of DAV College have bagged top three ranks in the results declared by Guru Nanak Dev University. Manisha Arora scored 1,061/1,200 marks bagging first position in the university, Manpreet Kaur scored 936/1,200 and bagged the third position whereas Hansraj scored 887/1,200 and got the fourth position in the university. Principal Dr SK Arora congratulated the toppers.

HMV students shine in varsity exams

Jalandhar: Gursimran Kaur of MA Music Vocal (Sem III) of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya got first position in Guru Nanak Dev University exams. She got 372 marks out of 400. Ruchi got seventh position with 343 marks and Shivali got the eighth position with 341. Principal Dr Ajay Sareen, Head of the Department Dr Prem Sagar and Sarvjit Kaur congratulated the students.

Virtual classrooms

Jalandhar: As educational institutions are closed, Eklavya School has started virtual classrooms. School director Seema Handa shared standard recommendations with other educators to prevent infection spread which includes regular handwash, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing and avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of coughing and sneezing. A training session on virtual learning was conducted at the school. These elearning classes are acting as an additional support to regular classes. Students are taking interest in these online sessions.

Video lectures commence

Jalandhar: KCL Institute of Management and Technology and Lyallpur Khalsa College of Engineering have begun utilising online methodology of delivery of lectures/assignments and notes. Faculty members have prepared video lectures, PPTs and assignments on daily basis and these lectures are being shared with the students through individual YouTube channels, WhatsApp group, emails and through link on institute websites.The problems of students are being taken through virtual classroom mode by using techniques of video conferencing and WhatsApp call etc. TNS
