The Jalandhar Municipal Corporation took strict action against illegal encroachments in the city, targeting several prominent establishments and unauthorised shops.

In a major move, the structure of the well-known Bansal Sweets, which was encroaching upon, was demolished by the authorities. At Old Jawahar Nagar near Alaska Chowk, the non-compoundable portion of the front house line was also removed, while the remaining portion was sealed.

Additionally, several illegal shops located at Tail Wali Gali near Shekha Bazar were sealed as part of the crackdown.

Officials emphasized that the action was taken to ensure free movement on public roads and to maintain civic discipline in the city.
