To curb the use of plastic, ‘Poly End 2020’ action camp was initiated by a news portal in collaboration with Municipal Corporation Jalandhar and a nukkad natak was organised at the Shivani Park here.

The event was attended by Municipal Corporation Commissioner Diprava Lakra, Additional Commissioner Municipal Corporation Babita Kler, industrialist Nitin Kohli, Additional Commissioner Income Tax Girish Bali, Mayor Jagdish Raja, Joint Director GST Jalandhar BK Virdi, social activist Sonia Virdi, Model Town Association President Anil Kumar Arora, Model Town Association Chairman Lally Ghuman, environmentalist Meenal Verma, Gymkhana Club Secretary Tarun Sikka and Model Town Councillor Aruna Arora.

At the event, the city residents were alerted about plastic-borne diseases. The event was started by a special performance of ‘Josh Band’. After that a special team of actors from Ludhiana performed a nukkad natak to ask the people to stop using plastic. What won everyone’s heart was a special poetry performance by a UKG girl. Environmentalist Meenal Verma also shared some alternatives that can be adapted to curb the demand of plastic.

Mayor Jagdish told the people about how plastic is affecting our daily lives. He also shared information about growing problems due to plastic all over the world and urged them to stop using plastic immediately.
