Migrant worker dies by suicide

A tragic incident of suicide by a migrant worker was reported from village Khalwara near Phagwara today. The deceased has been identified as Prakash, originally from Haryana, currently residing in Khalwara. SHO Jaswinder Singh informed that the village sarpanch had notified the police about the worker ending his life by hanging. The police have taken custody of the body and kept it in the Civil Hospital. According to the SHO, Prakash had been working as a sanitation worker. He took his own life by hanging himself in his house. The police are recording the statements of the family members and further investigation is underway.
