The recovery of the body of a man at Sheikhe village today spread panic in the area. The man, who has been identified as migrant labour Patel, was found dead at the village this morning. The body was found by the side of the road - on the land of the NRI, who has not been living in the village.

As per preliminary investigation, the man, who hails from Muzaffarpur in Uttar Pradesh, had been working at a factory in Jalandhar for long. He was living here alone.

Murder is reported to be the cause of his death and the reason for the crime has not been established yet.

The body was found at some distance from a de-addiction centre.

The police said except the little information about his status as a migrant worker, not much is known about the man as yet.

SHO of Maqsudan police station Balbir Singh said, "The body was found at 9.30 am. None of the family members of the man has been traced so far. The cause of his murder has also not been established. Investigation is on in the case."
