Punjab Minister Mohinder Bhagat launched a strong criticism of the previous Congress and SAD-BJP governments for allegedly misappropriating scholarships intended for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students.

Bhagat said unlike past administrations that forced students to protest for their rights, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has ensured every eligible student receives their scholarship benefits without delay.

“The timely disbursal of scholarships to SC/ST students is now being done,” Bhagat stated. He also pointed out, for the first time, reservation in appointments to the Punjab Advocate General’s Office had been implemented. He said 58 posts were being filled under the reservation policy, a demand that had been ignored by previous governments despite being raised by the AAP in the Assembly as early as 2017.
