Prashant Kumar Mishra, General Manager of Modern Coach Factory (MCF), Rae Bareli, has taken over the additional charge of General Manager of Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala.

An officer of the 1986 batch of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), Mishra has more than three decades of service in the Railways. He has previously served as Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Asansol, Malda and Alipurduar divisions, and as Additional General Manager of South Western Railway.

During his tenure at Asansol, the division received the Best Division Award twice in succession for record freight loading, earnings and overall improvement. Mishra is also known for his work in environmental conservation, heritage preservation and cultural promotion. Both Malda and Asansol divisions saw major progress in these areas under his leadership.

A keen researcher on railway heritage, Mishra has authored several books and written extensively on subjects such as leadership management and diesel locomotive maintenance.

on his arrival at RCF, he was welcomed by senior officials and later chaired a review meeting on coach production and the development of new designs. He also visited the workshop to inspect manufacturing processes and offered suggestions for improvement. As part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Mishra joined other officers in a tree plantation drive within the factory premises.
