Jalandhar, March 26
As the Jalandhar administration is gearing up to tackle Covid-19 spread, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Gujral has offered to spend Rs 2 crore from his MPLAD fund for the purpose.
Talking over the phone, Gujral said: “I have told the district administration to send me all requirements at the earliest on Whatsapp. I will sanction whatever they will ask for. Since the government has now allowed using MPLAD fund for disposables such as gowns and thermal guns, I can even approve any such demands.”
The Akali MP, who hails from Jalandhar, said: “I am ready to spend entire Rs 5 crore MPLAD fund allocated for discretionary funds annually under the scheme for Covid relief in the constituency.”
