Multiple FIRs registered in series of accidents, land dispute incidents

In the first case, Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Mahulla Tikampura, district Chhapra (Bihar), reported that his 60-year-old father, Murari Singh, died in a road accident last evening. According to the complaint, Murari Singh had stepped out of the house around 7 pm for personal work. By 8 pm, the family received a call from the Civil Hospital in Phagwara informing them that Singh had been struck by an unidentified vehicle near Bhullarai Chowk. The collision proved fatal. A case has been registered under sections relating to rash driving and causing death by negligence.
In a separate incident, a serious land-related confrontation was reported from Talwandi Chaudhrian. Complainant Bakshish Singh alleged that on November 25, 2025, around 4 pm, he was irrigating his agricultural land when a tractor driven by Subhneet Singh, carrying house-debris in its trailer, turned the load towards his field. Upon objecting, Bakshish claimed he was verbally abused by Subhneet and Parvinder Singh. Moments later, after a phone call, Ranjeet Singh, Gyan Singh and another unidentified armed person arrived at the scene. The group allegedly assaulted Bakshish and Ranjeet Singh reportedly pointed a revolver at him, attempting to fire before being restrained by companions. Police have registered a case under sections related to assault, criminal intimidation and unlawful assembly.
Another FIR involves a complaint filed by Rashvinder Singh of Nasirabad village, who reported that an unknown motorcyclist driving at high speed and without using a horn hit his TVS Jupiter scooter, causing an accident. Following his statement, a case was registered under various provisions pertaining to rash driving, negligent acts endangering life and property damage.
The week also saw a severe accident in the Kapurthala region. Hardip Singh of Sikri village reported that on November 21, 2025, his father, Jarnail Singh, was returning from Jagpalpur with his grandchildren when a white Ford vehicle (PB10-JD-7344), reportedly driven at excessive speed by Mani, son of Jasvir Singh, struck him near the Sikri village gate. The impact caused Jarnail Singh to fall and sustain serious injuries, while his motorcycle was also heavily damaged. Police have initiated proceedings under sections dealing with rash and negligent driving and causing grievous hurt. These back-to-back incidents highlight increasing concerns over road safety, reckless driving, and escalating rural disputes. Investigations in all cases are ongoing, and further action will follow based on evidence and witness accounts.
