Panic prevailed at Moranwali village of this tehsil this morning when the bodies of an NRI and a woman, who took care of his house, were found. It is suspected that both of them were murdered with sharp-edged weapons. Due to a foul smell coming from the bodies, the murder seems to be a few days old. The deceased has been identified as NRI Santokh Singh (65), who had come from Canada about three months ago. The deceased woman has been identified as Manjit Kaur (50), who had been taking care of the house since long.

The incident came to light in the morning, when Manjit's daughters climbed the wall and went inside the house after the house was locked from outside and saw the bodies of Santokh and Manjit. These had marks of sharp-edged weapons. After this incident, an atmosphere of fear was created in the village.

Dr Mukesh Kumar, SP (D), Jaspreet Singh, DSP, Garhshankar, SHO Gagandeep Singh Sekhon along with the police force reached the spot and conducted a preliminary investigation into the incident.
