According to information, Sukhpreet Kaur told the police that Harpal Singh, who had come from Dubai, was bursting crackers in the street last night and was also shouting loudly. When her husband Harbhajan Singh tried to stop him, they got into a heated argument.

She alleged that Harpal attacked her husband with a sharp-edged weapon. At the same time, the accused’s father Amrik Singh also attacked her husband with his sword. She said in the meantime their neighbour Balwinder Singh Billa came to save them, but they also seriously injured him.

Neighbours and family members were taking the injured to Hoshiarpur hospital when Harbhajan died on the way. Injured Balveer Singh Billa was currently undergoing treatment in a private hospital, where his condition was said to be critical.
