A road accident involving a Punjab Roadways bus left the driver dead on the spot and six others injured on Friday evening. Eyewitnesses said the bus was travelling from Chandigarh to Amritsar when it collided with a truck near Phagwara. Passengers reported that bus was not speeding at time of the accident. They said the mishap occurred after driver momentarily dozed off.
