The Education Department has started online coaching for students seeking admission in Meritorious Schools. Recorded lectures for science, social science, English and other subjects have been uploaded on the department’s Educare App. Besides, live interactive sessions of teachers with students have been planned in case students find any difficulty in lectures or in the study material provided by the teachers.

Talking to The Tribune, Deepak Kumar, one of the developers of the Educare App and mathematics teacher at the Government Senior Secondary School, Nurmahal, said on the demand of students and teachers, the department decided to provide online coaching to students for meritorious schools admission.

He further said the app already has model test papers, daily slides, exam series, etc for almost every class. Besides, textbooks, videos and lectures on various subjects of class X, which would help students have been uploaded.

“There are more than 72 lakh downloads of Punjab Educare app. Not just teachers and students from Punjab have been availing the benefit of learning material provided in this app, rather teachers and students from other states, J&K too have downloaded this app,” he added. The exam for Meritorious Schools has been scheduled for April 24.
