The meeting was attended by the tehsildar, district food and supplies officer, secretary of the market committee, agriculture officer and representatives of various procurement agencies.
Following the review, the SDM informed the media that the arrival of paddy in Phagwara’s mandis was continuing smoothly and that nearly 80 per cent of the purchased stock had already been lifted. He emphasised that there was no shortage of gunny bags and that all necessary arrangements for procurement and lifting had been made to ensure the process remained hassle-free.
He further stated that timely payments to farmers were being ensured and that all departments involved had been instructed to maintain close coordination for efficient operations. “Farmers and commission agents will not be allowed to face any kind of inconvenience,” the SDM assured.
Officials present at the meeting reiterated their commitment to smooth and transparent procurement and lifting operations across all local markets.
