An FIR has been registered against a Pakistani hacker following a complaint by Yogesh Suri, a scribe in the city who operates a web channel. The Cyber Crime Cell under the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police took action after the channel’s official Facebook page was hacked.

According to Suri, a complaint was submitted to the police on July 12. Following a probe, it was revealed that the hacker, identified as Shaharyar Khan from Pakistan, was responsible for the breach.

The Cyber Crime Cell traced the hacker through the IP address, email ID and phone number linked to the hacked page.
