City-based shuttler Palak Kohli — who is a part of the Paralympics squad in Paris — has qualified for the quarterfinals in women’s singles category to be played tomorrow.

The 22-year-old was taking part in two events, including women’s singles and mixed doubles. She has fallen out from the doubles event held yesterday, wherein she had paired with IPS office Suhas Yathiraj. They lost to France’s Lucas Mazur and Faustine Noel. Her father Mahesh Kohli said, “Palak has emerged victorious in the group-stage matches. She would compete in the quarterfinals of women’s singles. She would be playing against Indonesia’s Sadiyah K.”

Palak has been coached by Gaurav Khanna at his academy in Lucknow for the last five years.
