Demonstrating hands-on leadership, Singh personally drove a tractor through waterlogged areas to deliver aid to families stranded by the floods.
Reviewing the situation, he expressed concern over the rising water levels of the Chitti Bein, warning that the danger of flooding could extend to additional villages, if the trend continues.
Singh reassured residents that in this time of crisis, no family would be left without food, tarpaulins, or daily necessities. “I stand shoulder to shoulder with my people in this difficult hour. They must not panic. We will ensure all necessary supplies reach them,” he said.
Relief camps and material distribution were organised in Khurlan Kingra, Chitteani, Diwali, Daduwal, Chachowal, Khun-Khun, and other affected villages. Singh also coordinated with senior district officials on the phone, directing them to ensure adequate arrangements in the affected zones.
Accompanying Singh during the relief work were senior Congress leaders Manmohan Banga, Anuradha Banga, Surinder Banga, Pratap Chahal, Nalin Sharma, and Purushottam Dadra, along with several local representatives.
Pargat was the first to alert the government and district administration about the rising water levels in the Chitti Bein and the risk of flooding in Cantt villages. Following his intervention, the administration deployed teams for relief and monitoring in the constituency.
