The cyclothon organised by Fit Bikers Club, Hoshiarpur, concluded successfully, in which about 400 cyclists from all over the country participated. Through the cyclothon, the organisers made efforts to create awareness against drug abuse.

The cyclothon started at 7 am from the head office of Sachdeva Stocks located at Bulawadi, where Lok Sabha member Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain and SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik arrived as special guests under the leadership of club president Paramjit Singh Sachdeva.

Earlier, a special programme was presented by the special children of JSS Asha Kiran Special School, Jahankhela. Speaking on the occasion, Member of Parliament Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal said there is no greater happiness than fitness and cycling keeps one fit.

The cyclists covered a distance of 100 km from Hoshiarpur to Tanda-Chaulang and then back to Hoshiarpur and the district administration had made arrangements for traffic management and security on the entire route of cyclothon.

A cheque for Rs 1 lakh 40 thousand was handed over to the Asha Kiran School Committee by members of the Fit Bikers Club led by its president Paramjeet Sachdeva.
