Phagwara: The Shahkot police have arrested two 'drug peddlers' on the charge of selling heroin. Twenty gram of heroin was recovered from the possession of the accused Pardeep Khosla and Sunil Kumar of Kotli Gajran village. A case under the NDPS Act was registered against the accused. The Nakodar police arrested 'drug peddler' Gourav of Mohalla Guru Nanak Pura with 8 gram heroin and 120 intoxicant tablets. oc

Two arrested for snatching

Phagwara: The Nurmahal police have arrested two miscreants for snatching woman's earrings. The accused have been identified as Lovpreet, alias Labha, and Amardeep, alias Harman, both residents of Mehatpur. The accused had snatched a woman's earrings on February 5 on Bilga road. The police have impounded a motorcycle and recovered Rs 550 and a sharp-edged weapon from them. The police arrested Harpreet Singh alias Happy of Katla Janga village for snatching cash from auto driver Lachmann of Mohalla Sarana. oc

13 booked for blocking traffic

Phagwara: The Mehatpur police have booked 13 villagers on the charge of blocking traffic by staging a dharna on a road. The accused were residents of Baghela village. They staged a dharna on Bhagela-Talwan road. The police reached the spot but villagers refused to lift dharna. oc

Man cheated of Rs 13.56 lakh

Hoshiarpur: The police have registered a case on the charge of online cheating of Rs 13.56 lakh. Manjinderpal Singh, a resident of local Mohalla Saroop Nagar, told the police that an unknown person created a group on Facebook and after making him join it, loaded an app on his mobile. After this, the accused cheated him by making him transfer the amount to his account on the pretext of doubling his money. oc

Hubby held for wife's suicide

Hoshiarpur: The police have registered a case against a person and arrested him on the charge of forcing his wife to commit suicide. Chaman Lal of village Mankon under Adampur told the police that his daughter Neel Kamal was married to Raj Kumar of Kayampur. She was upset due to the harassment by her husband, hanged herself and ended her life. The police have arrested the accused. oc

Arrested with stolen bike

Hoshiarpur: The police arrested an accused with a stolen bike during a raid in the area. The arrested accused has been identified as Mangal Singh, a resident of Atalgarh Gharinda district Amritsar.

Illicit liquor recovered

Hoshiarpur: The police raided Lakshmi Enclave and arrested two accused and recovered 82 bottles of liquor. The arrested accused have been identified as Love Manie, a resident of Fatehgarh, Begumpura, and Manpreet Singh, a resident of Rajpur Bhaiyan. oc
