During the ongoing fight against Covid-19, Improvement Trust Phagwara Chairman Sohan Lal Banga on Friday provided 105 PPE kits, 2,000 surgical masks and 1,000 gloves to Phagwara police and safai karamcharis from his own pocket at a brief function here. Phagwara MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, SP Phagwara Manwinder Singh, DSP Surinder Singh Chand and SHOs of all police stations besides, representatives of safai karamcharis were also present on the occasion.

At another function held at nearby Palahai village on Friday Phagwara MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal distributed 218 kits of ration to the needy. Dhaliwal contributed 50 ration kits from his pocket, 100 ration kits were donated by Basra families, 10 kits were donated by a villager Sansaar Chand while 58 kits were donated by Panchayat of Palahai village.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
