Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Phagwara, Jashanjit Singh in the presence of Tehsildar Baljinder Singh today flagged off a voter awareness van to inspire the people to cast their vote and educate people about the working of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) of the machines. The mobile van will visit all important localities of Phagwara assembly constituency.

The SDM also held a meeting with Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jaspreet Singh, Tehsildar Baljinder Singh and SHOs of all police stations in Phagwara assembly constituency regarding vulnerability mapping of polling booths.

SDM Jashanjit Singh and DSP Jaspreet Singh said adequate security arrangements would be ensured at all booths and after identification, additional force would be deployed at sensitive booths. They said that law and order would be maintained at every cost to ensure free and fair elections.
