A group of cow vigilantes from Jalandhar and Patiala raided a store in Phagwara following a tip-off about the alleged sale of beef.

The raid took place at a store at Maheru village near Phagwara on the night of September 30.

The cow vigilantes found several boxes of canned beef at the shop. They alerted the police, which seized the boxes and arrested the owner, Nakul Dhir, a resident of Jalandhar.

A case has been registered against Dhir at Satnampura police station.
