Police bust inter-state drug network, arrest two

Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur informed that under the special anti-drug campaign initiated by the Punjab government, the operation was executed under the supervision of Manpreet Singh Dhillon (DCP/Investigation), Jayant Puri (ADCP/Investigation) and Amarbir Singh (ACP) by the CIA staff Jalandhar team, led by Inspector Surinder Kumar.
She said that on Friday, the CIA team was conducting searches related to drug smugglers near Mandakni Farm, Service Lane, GT Road, Phagwara, when an adult was apprehended on the basis of suspicion. He identified himself as Sagar Babbar, a resident of Model House, Jalandhar.
A total of 200 grams of cocaine, 2 kilograms of charas, 20 grams of ICE, 22 grams of LSD tablets and one .32 bore pistol were recovered from the accused. During further action, his associate Dharmanshu alias Love, son of Manoj Kumar, a resident of Basti Sheikh, Jalandhar, was also arrested from whom five grams of cocaine and one .32 bore revolver along with five live rounds of ammunition were recovered.
