Phagwara, August 28

In an effort to contribute to the augmentation of green cover, a special plantation drive was carried out by Punjab Pollution Control Board at M/s Jagatjit Industries Limited in Hamira (Kapurthala) under the supervision of Jalandhar Chief Environmental Engineer Krunesh Garg.

During the plantation drive, two patches of 10 kanal each were developed as per the Nanak Bagichi/Miyawaki technique. In addition, the drive was also carried out on nearly 8 acres within the premises of M/s Jagatjit Industries Ltd. Plant species of neem, gulmohar, amla, jamun, arjun, sisham, kachnar, simbal, sukhchain, pili kaner, gulabib toon, kikar, amaltaas, jacaranda, bahera, dhaoon and jamoa were planted.

Chief Environmental Engineer Saplings Garg and Jalandhar Zonal office Senior Environmental Engineer Vijay Kumar also planted the saplings.
