The programmes, conducted at Sardar Dilbagh Singh Government College, Jadla, and in the slum area of Banga/Balachaur, aimed to raise awareness among students and the general public, about poverty alleviation schemes and legal rights.
During the events, Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) Avtar Chand Chumber, Jaswinder Kaur Rani and Rabjot Singh Chumber sensitised participants about the significance of the day and various government welfare schemes such as the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
The resource persons shared information about the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) Effective Implementation of Poverty Alleviation Schemes Scheme, 2015; citizens’ legal rights; free legal aid services; cybercrime prevention; digital fraud awareness; the National Lok Adalat; and toll-free legal helpline number 15100.
