MP Dr Rajkumar Chabbewal met Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann regarding the development works in the Chabbewal Assembly constituency.

During the meeting, on the request of Chabbewal, a grant of Rs 25 crore has been approved by the Chief Minister for various development works.

Talking to the media, he said most of the amount would be used for the construction of roads. A grant of Rs 2 crore would be given for the needy residents for the construction of the roofs of their houses.

He said about Rs 17.15 crore had been sanctioned for the construction of new and widening of the roads. Apart from this, Kothi to Rampur, Jhanjowal via Kaharpur Gurdwara Shaheedan, bypass via Atalgarh, Mahmowal, Harmoya, Phulahi, Tajowal to Hukaran, Basi Kalan Road and from Bheduan to Parsowal and Bheduan to Chak Sadhu would be widened to 18 feet.

He said seven roads will be widened, which include Hedi to Rajpur Bhaiyan, Jallowal to Chito, Pachta Mukhliana Road to Dihana, Gurdwara Neki Sahib to Panjoda, Badon Focal Point Dihana and Todarpur to Malakpur, etc.

He said apart from these, Rs 3.69 crore would be spent on various development works. Funds were also released for drinking water in Bichhohi (Rs 80 lakh), Singhpur (Rs 76 lakh) and Jhanjhowal (Rs 60 lakh). He said Rs 150 crore would soon come for development works, which will change the picture of Chabbewal. — OC
