Punjab Police equestrian team felicitated for outstanding performance in national events

The Additional Director General of Police (State Armed Police), MF Farooqui, felicitated DIG Inderbir Singh, along with other medal winners of the Punjab Police equestrian team, for their commendable performance at two major championships held in November.

The team excelled at the Masters International Tent Pegging Championship held in Ghaziabad from November 10 to 12, and at the Punjab Equestrian Festival organised by the Punjab Government’s Department of Tourism and Culture in Mohali from November 14 to 16.

In the Masters International Tent Pegging Championship, the Punjab Police contingent secured the Overall Runners-Up Trophy, winning a total of five medals — one gold, three silver and one bronze.

In Punjab Equestrian Festival, DIG Inderbir Singh won bronze in show jumping (60 cm), riding Sher Shah, Inspector Youngbir Singh won bronze in dressage (Elementary), riding Badal, Head Constable Sandeep Singh won bronze in show jumping (75 cm).

PAP Horse Riding Club also made a mark in the competition as its riders delivered impressive performances during the Punjab Equestrian Festival. Club’s Sahibinder Deep Singh won a gold medal in hacks open, Diyansh Sharma won bronze in hacks open, Suhani Kaur Bhutani won bronze in hacks ladies, Anavbir Singh won bronze in pole bending, while Mankirat Singh won two bronze medals in show jumping (Children’s category).

ADGP Farooqui congratulated all the participants for bringing laurels to the Punjab Police and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in national and international competitions. Jalandhar had also hosted national-level tent pegging championship this year that drew great response.

As many as 125 horses, along with riders, participated in the 2025 National Equestrian Championship for Tent Pegging, held at the Punjab Armed Police (PAP) grounds in Jalandhar.
