A team of special branch of the police arrested the in-charge of the Chandigarh counter of Punjab Roadways Hoshiarpur with poppy husk and opium today.

According to information, the team, consisting of Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajinder Mohan and Kuldeep Singh of special branch, and constable Deepak Raja on the basis of a secret information, seized five packets of poppy husk and opium in an envelop in the bag of Aman Kumar, a resident of Mohalla Barfani Hoshiarpur, from the bus stand, Hoshiarpur.

The police team informed the Model Town police station about this. ASI Hans Raj and a police party reached the spot and arrested the accused Aman and seized five packets of poppy husk (1.25 kg) and opium from him.

Hans Raj said a case had been registered against the accused under Sections 15/18-61-85 of the NDPS Act and had been arrested.
