The Punjab sub junior boys hockey team kicked off their campaign in the 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Men’s National Championship with a resounding 10–0 victory over Karnataka, establishing themselves as early title contenders in the tournament.

Played at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium in Chennai, the one-sided match saw Punjab deliver a commanding performance, showcasing their dominance and cohesive teamwork from the outset. Varinder Singh was named Player of the Match for his standout display, contributing a goal and playing a pivotal role throughout the game.

Punjab’s scoring spree was led by Mandeep Singh, who netted two goals, while Vijay Kumar Pal, Anurag Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Gursimran Preet Singh, Jashanpreet Singh, Varinder Singh, Akash Deep, and Arshpreet Singh chipped in with a goal each, rounding off a comprehensive team effort.

Hockey Punjab President Nitin Kohli and General Secretary Amrik Singh Powar lauded the team’s emphatic win, commending their efforts and discipline. They also extended best wishes to the players for their upcoming matches in the championship.
