Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal has appointed Kunwar Amritbir Singh, popularly known as the “Push-Up Man of Punjab,” as the district youth icon of Jalandhar for the anti-drug campaign.

While handing over the appointment letter, Dr Aggarwal stated that this decision would inspire the youth to adopt a healthy lifestyle while staying away from the menace of drugs. The appointment recognises Singh’s exemplary achievements and dedication to promoting fitness and a drug-free lifestyle among youngsters.

Kunwar Amritbir Singh, a resident of Batala town, has earned three Guinness World Records and over 35 fitness records, particularly in the push-up category. The DC lauded Singh’s discipline, determination, and passion for physical fitness, describing him as an inspiration for countless young individuals across the state.

As the District Youth Icon, Singh has been tasked with using his strong social media presence and public engagements to guide young minds away from drug abuse towards a life of health, purpose, and wellness. Dr Aggarwal expressed hope that Singh would continue to spread awareness against drug abuse and promote fitness with the same zeal in the future.

Expressing gratitude to the Jalandhar Administration, Singh said he was honoured to join hands with the Punjab Government under the ambitious ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ initiative. He assured his active participation in the campaign, vowing to create maximum awareness among youngsters to build a stronger, drug-free Punjab.
